One Direction Stained Glass Wall Light

This is a little something I put together for my daughter who is a big One Direction fan. The glass is all cut and soldered in the Tiffany technique (copper foil and solder). It is in the shape of a skateboard and has a curved head and tail (not easy to see from the front view).

For some reason my camera tends to make reds a bit too pink - it is dark read in real life.

I found a box light from IKEA, and got it thinking it would be perfect, but it turned out to be a bit too big for the glass piece (thus the corners of the box being taped over to not show through light).

This was a new shape I wanted to try out, so I learned a lot during the process (stresses are much different when you introduce a curve section above a large flat section....causing weak glass to crack). I have a number of ideas for wall lights using the skateboard shape so this is the start of a new series for me (with a different light in the future).
